Video Game

I don't play video games and I never really have, growing up with all sisters, video games weren't exactly big in my house.   So I had a hard time with this project creating an educational video game.  But I am a waitress, so I thought it might be interesting to make my job into a video game.  Anyways, here is 

my project.

Italy

Yes, Italy is definitely on my list of places to go.  Except, there are so many beautiful places to see in Italy, I am not sure I will get around to all of it.  It is such a beautiful place!

Travel Journals...

I was looking at a blog and I saw these really cool travel journals.  And I am thinking I really should make one while I am in Europe this summer, it is such a fun way to record memories!

Or maybe I will take a lot of photos and do something like this......

WEBSITE PROJECT

      For our website project I chose to design a site for traveling at Lake Tahoe.  It is one of my favorite places to go in the summer.  It is located on the California-Nevada border, one hour away from Reno.  If you haven't been you need to go, it is beautiful! Live the Language

Lauren made a comment on my last post about these "Live the Language" commercials.  It is a company that does education programs abroad.  The commercials definitely give you the travel bug.  I love the different type faces they use. I hope you enjoy watching them.

Austria

How fun would it be to go to Austria and stay in a hotel like this? 

Well unfortunately it costs about $200 a night.  But that is not going to stop me from going to Austria.  I will probably stay in a dirty hostel, but I will still be able to see views like these...

Amazing.

Disneyland???

Many people have told me that when you first get to Switzerland if feels like you are in Disneyland.  And I must admit, this excites me very much.  I hear that the buildings resemble the buildings in Disneyland,  and up against the very luscious green mountains everything looks like a dream.

 

I am really looking forward to enjoying the scenery and the architecture while I am there. 

Chocolate...

Chocolate is one of my favorite things!

It always has been. 

But what is better than normal chocolate???

SWISS chocolate! 

While I am in Switzerland I will be enjoying a lot of this....

The Hills Are Alive......

SWITZERLAND.  

I am going to go hiking/biking in the beautiful Swiss Alps.

I would actually rather do this....

But since it will be summer, hiking will do just fine.  It will be awesome to see the green mountains in the summer time.

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike.......

I want to explore the city of Paris on a bicycle! And renting bikes in Paris is pretty cheap.   

It only costs 1 euro for a 1 day ticket, and 5 euros for a 7 day ticket.  

Not bad, right? 

I want to wander through different shops and cafes...

Admire the beautiful architecture around the city...

And maybe just sit down and observe paris in the Jardin du Luxembourg....

...Yup, sounds like a good day to me!

World War II Nerd...

I LOVE learning about anything that has to do with World War II.  I am a total nerd about that kind of stuff.  But I find it so interesting, I love hearing war stories about brave soldiers who had so much American pride.  So one of the places that I am dying to go to while in France is Normandy.  The best part is that is is FREE to walk around the beaches and cemeteries.


So I will be seeing where this happened (for free)........

There is also a museum there that has artifacts from World War 2 and lots of other interesting things to see.  It is called the Caen Museum.  To go to the Caen museum it costs 18 euros, which is a lot of money, but I would say it is worth it.

And while I am in Normandy........I am dying to see Giverny, which is the home of the painter, Monet.  It costs 8 Euros, but just look at the beautiful gardens!

First Stop....Tours, France

France is the first place that I will be staying while in Europe this summer. I am spending a WHOLE MONTH there for an intensive language study abroad and I can't wait. While I am there I will be staying with a host family, which I think will make the experience so much more fun. Naturally, one of the things I want to see is while in France is the EIFFEL TOWER! There are three levels that you can go up to. The first and second levels have souvenir stores and restaurants on them and the third level goes to the very top where there are amazing views and historical facts about the eiffel tower. And may I just say, how awesome would dinner be on top of the eiffel tower?? Pretty amazing, but way too expensive, 90 euros for one entree....YIKES! I think I will just eat at home before I go. It costs $10 to go to the top, but I think thats totally worth it. I mean it was the tallest building in the world until the empire state building came along! Look how big it is!

Did you know that in 1923 a man rode a bicycle down one of the legs of the Eiffel Tower from the first level?????? CRAZY! (That story may or may not be true......)
